Our program includes:
The surgeons at Crestwood Medical Center specialize in weight-loss surgery and have cumulatively performed more than 3,000 procedures. Their focus is helping patients become healthy through lifestyle changes, with surgery as the first step toward a new life.
The goal for patients is not only weight loss, but also reducing or eliminating health problems associated with obesity. These include chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and lipid disorders.
All surgeons also specialize in minimally invasive — also called laparoscopic — procedures, which typically result in less scarring and anesthesia as well as a faster recovery (compared to traditional surgery). More than 98% of their patients are discharged either the same day as surgery or with one overnight stay in the hospital. Most are able to return to work within one-to-two weeks of their surgeries.
The following bariatric procedures are performed:
- Adjustable gastric banding
- Sleeve gastrectomy
- Gastric bypass
- Revision and conversion surgeries
