Crestwood Medical Center delivers a range of cancer care services, from early screening and preventive education to diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Multidisciplinary, patient-centered care combines technology, medical knowledge and a range of support services to address body, mind and spirit.
Crestwood Center of Hope
Crestwood Center of Hope is a twelve-bed inpatient oncology unit that includes eleven dedicated oncology nurses and four dedicated oncology technicians. Newly renovated, private rooms offer comfort and privacy while we care for you or a loved one.
Cancer Registry
The center also features the cancer registry, a system designed for the collection, management and analysis of data on people diagnosed with cancer. The goal is to assist the medical profession in promoting quality care for patients with specific types of cancer. The cancer registry's primary purpose is to provide lifetime follow-up on all registry patients. In all cases, confidentiality is maintained and names are never used.
Cancer Care Team
The medical team at the Center for of Hope Cancer Care at Crestwood Medical Center consists of full time oncology staff and partnerships with the area's medical oncologists, physicist, dosimetrist, internal medicine physicians, radiologists, gynecologists, pathologists, general surgeons and family physicians. This team is supported by personal, professional and caring nurses and patient care therapists. The nursing staff is on call 24 hours a day for community members. Because each cancer patient presents a unique and specific set of needs, treatment plans for the patients are customized to give every patient specialized and individualized care.
Cancer Conferences
Cancer doesn't stop. Neither do cancer specialists. Weekly cancer conferences help the physicians and staff connect and discuss all parts of cancer care, including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. In these sessions, they share knowledge and insight that helps everyone make the best care decisions.
These conferences bring together professionals from each part of our hospital, from internal medicine and nursing to radiation oncology, surgery and even family doctors. It's a chance for experts to explore new ideas, discover new research and put their heads together to improve treatment for patients.
Conferences are held weekly and breast cancer is discussed in the first conference of each month. One CME credit available. Physicians interested in presenting or participating should contact the coordinator for more details at (256) 429-5578.
