ALS Association Names Crestwood Medical Center “Community Partner of the Year”
9/1/2013
The ALS Association Alabama Chapter presented Crestwood Medical Center with the award for “Community Partner of the Year” at its annual meeting on February 7th, 2012.
Since 2009, the ALS Care Clinic at Crestwood has provided the only interdisciplinary care program for the management of ALS in North Alabama. At the monthly clinic, ALS patients have access to a team of medical specialists, including neurologists, RNs, speech therapists, respiratory therapists, and occupational therapists.
The goal of the clinic is to make it easier for ALS patients to cope with their disease and to improve quality of life.
400 Alabamians are currently living with ALS, but patients come to Crestwood’s ALS Clinic from Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. Crestwood Medical Center, in partnership with the Alabama Chapter of the ALS Association, strives to ensure that no one is alone in their fight against ALS.
