I just felt strange on that Monday afternoon. I told my wife that there was something wrong. I took some aspirin and called 911. Less than 15 minutes after making the call I was in Crestwood’s ER. Forty-one minutes later I had a stent in place through emergent balloon angioplasty and was being wheeled out of the Cardiac Cath lab. Well under an hour from the time I left my house in an ambulance to the time my procedure was complete…wow! It was so rapid and my cardiologist detected no damage occurred to my heart muscle. Ten days later I returned to Crestwood to have two more blockages cleared and stents placed via an elective balloon angioplasty. Thanks to Crestwood there was barely any interruption in my consulting work. My wife and I continue to volunteer with Meals on Wheels and other programs as we always have. Now we also diligently walk our dog, Shelby, everyday. We’ve always been “healthy” eaters but now we try to make even better choices.
