- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has designated Crestwood Medical Center as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement are part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association’s expansion of its Blue Distinction® designation. Learn more.

- The Crestwood Women’s Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Mammographic Imaging Services as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR accreditation signifies commitment to quality patient care, which is a top priority of the facility. Learn more.
- There’s renewed hope for sufferers of painful, unsightly varicose veins. Crestwood Medical Center has now opened a Vein Center which offers patients a state-of-the-art procedure called endovenous therapy for treating varicose veins without the need for a hospital stay, general anesthesia or even stitches. - Crestwood Medical Center recently received certification as a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health-System Elders) site, a national program to improve care for older hospitalized adults. Through this program Crestwood will undertake a number of steps to recognize and prevent or treat health problems specific to elders with a dedicated ACE (Acute Care for the Elderly) Inpatient Unit. - Crestwood Nursing Leadership Group received a Freedom Team Salute Commendation for their outstanding support of SGT Jimmy Hodges, a Soldier in the United States Army and RN at Crestwood. SGT Hodges was deployed in September 2008 and recently returned home. He served in the Army as a Combat Medit. The Crestwood Nursing Leadership Group sponsored SGT Hodges Combat Area Support Hospital with "Treats for Troops" and sent several Christmas baskets full of goodies.
