The Behavioral Health Pavilion, located at Crestwood Medical Center, is home to a twelve-bed, secure inpatient psychiatric facility for the treatment of adults experiencing acute mental illness and acute chemical dependency treatment needs. We offer inpatient detoxification services for the treatment of certain specific withdrawal syndromes. Since we are located at a full service medical facility, our patients also have access to consultation by other medical specialists for non-psychiatric medical needs.
The Behavioral Health program at Crestwood provides care with a treatment team focus. The treatment team consists of the attending psychiatrists, staff nurses, technicians, professional therapists and counselors, and other consultants deemed necessary by the treatment team. All these professionals work together to provide an environment where the patient can best work on his/her particular problem areas.
Our goal is to help our patients learn new problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, and to give them the opportunity to practice these skills. Our staff is trained to use evidence-based practices to help our patients begin to make changes, with an emphasis on planning to continue the work of recovery long after the inpatient hospital stay has ended. A structured therapeutic program is offered on the Behavioral Health
Unit to provide patients with the optimal environment for recovery. Individual, group, and family services are combined to assist the patient, depending upon each patient's individual treatment plan.
Our inpatient treatment team works closely with our own outpatient behavioral health services, the local mental health center, private psychiatrists / therapists, long-term chemical dependency programs, and other treatment resources to ensure that our patients have access to comprehensive community-based care after they leave the hospital.
A staff of Master's-prepared psychiatric screeners is available to our Emergency Department and medical staff twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. These trained professionals gather certain health information for a determination by the medical director for appropriate admission, and to arrange outpatient referrals when needed. Emergencies should be handled by calling 911 or one of the crisis numbers listed on this webpage, or by visiting your nearest Emergency Department anytime.
If you have any questions regarding admissions, please call and speak with one of our friendly Behavioral Health team members at 256-429-5480.
All calls are confidential.
