Chemotherapy is the use of drugs to treat cancerous cells by interfering with the cell’s ability to grow or reproduce. It is one of the most common treatments for cancer. Different drugs work in different ways to impact cell growth in this treatment, and chemotherapy may be used by itself, or in combination with other treatments such as radiation or surgery to treat the disease. Patients can receive chemotherapy on an inpatient and outpatient basis at Crestwood Medical Center.
