| The month of October is recognized nationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Crestwood joins the effort to educate women in the community about breast cancer by stressing the importance of detecting the disease in its earliest stages through screening mammography. |

Crestwood is an active participant in the community emergency preparedness efforts of our local EMA. |
Crestwood supports area nursing schools including the UAH College of Nursing. Each semester over 100 UAH nursing students complete clinical rotations at Crestwood. Crestwood honored its Medical Staff for Doctor's Day by making a donation in their honor to the UAH College of Nursing.

Matters of the Heart: Crestwood Heart Walk Team at the 2010 American Heart Association Heart Walk
Not only does Crestwood sponsor events within the community, like the Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Alabama 2011 5K, our staff and associates can be found participating as well. The Crestwood team, shown below, gathers excitedly before the race that was held at Bridge Street Town Center in July, 2011.

Two of Crestwood's community focused programs, Healthy Woman and Senior Circle, host events throughout the year in hopes of engaging the public in exciting ways to provide a better understanding of practical health needs. Pictured to the right, Healthy Woman’s "Living The Sweet Life" event taught men and women of multiple generations the beneficial steps in diabetes prevention and management. |

 Crestwood nurses and physicians assisted 3rd-5th grade girls from community schools at UAHuntsville's 3rd Annual Girls Science and Engineering Day. Students shown below conducted ear exams and learned how to repair broken bones with enthusiastic Crestwood professionals.
